TEPLE
PIERCING

The nipple piercing is back, but never actually went away.

The first mention of nipple piercings in the West dates from the fourteenth century.

Isabella of Bavaria, Queen of France, had her nipples pierced as a fashion statement. She decorated her nipples with diamonds and fine gold chains.

She wore robes with deep cleavage, so you could definitely see her decorations.

How is a nipple pierced?

Does a nipple piercing really go through your nipple? Yes. The piercing is placed at the base of the nipple, where the nipple and areola meet.

The piercing can be inserted horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Want to be sure what's possible with you? Make a appointment, and our piercers will take a discreet look.

Does a nipple piercing hurt?

We'll make no bones about it: yes, the nipple is one of the most painful places to pierce.

A nipple piercing requires a lot of dedication. The healing process is difficult and you have to take extra care.

Breastfeeding feeding is still possible: your nipples are not damaged. We do recommend removing the nipple piercing while breastfeeding.

But if you're convinced, go for it!
Piercing is done very quickly with a sharp needle. Before you know it, the gem is in.

How do I care for a nipple piercing?

A nipple piercing is fully healed after about 6 to 9 months. Don't panic, it won't hurt for that long. After piercing, you may have different experiences: periods of extreme sensitivity and periods of no feeling in the nipple. This is perfectly normal because the nerves in your nipple that we pierced are working their way back together.

Please note! Nipple piercings grow close very quickly. If you take your piercing out for a while (for example, while breastfeeding), there is a good chance that you will need to be pierced again.

What not to do:
  • Not fiddling, twisting, pulling, pushing on your new piercing.
  • Sleep not on your chest. This creates additional pressure.
  • Be careful with tight clothing, hugging, showering... This can also create additional pressure.
  • Do not use alcohol.
  • Avoid swimming, sauna, tanning bed and taking a long bath for 4 to 6 weeks. With these activities, your blood vessels expand. There will be natural swelling after piercing, so you want to avoid additional swelling.
  • Remove the piercing Not until it is healed. The hole will grow closed.
What to do:
  • Wash your hands before touching the piercing.
  • Clean your piercing up to 2 times a day with a saline solution. We recommend Neilmed Piercing Aftercare.
  • If you do not have a saline solution, then you can clean the piercing under flowing lukewarm water up to 2 times a day.
